You're trapped.
Somewhere deep within these endless sterile corridors is you. The air smells of ozone from the lethal electrified walls. The stomps and threats from the endless robot legion thrum around you in all directions. Lost, confused, you're out of time, and full of rage. All that's left to your name is your wits, a polycarbon prisoner garb, and a handheld High-Focus Teletronic Phase Zapper. The clothes won't protect you from anything. But the Phase Zapper... That oughta take a few of them down.

Reexperience the arcade classic, Berzerk, in a new modernized form. Put together by three enthusiastic novices, we hope Bazoik will thrill and challenge you!

How to install

Click on "Download" below and download Bazoik.msi. Double click on the file once downloaded and follow the instructions to install the game. Bazoik is for Windows PCs only.

How to play

Bazoik is a tough-as-nails arcade style game; your objective is the surive as long as possible, while trying to attain the highest score possible! In order to move your character, simply press and hold any of the directional buttons (see default controls in the next section). To fire a bullet, simply hold the fire button while pressing any of the directional buttons. You cannot move while firing, so be sure to line up your shot! To pause the game, simply press the pause button, or the ESC key on your keyboard; the ESC key will work regardless of what pause is bound to. Your current score is shown in the top left of the game screen. Your current life count is shown in the bottom left corner; once you run out of lives, the game is over!

Navigating menus

To navigate the menus in the game, simply use the Up and Down buttons to select an option on the menu (highlighted red), and press the fire button to confirm. Or, just move your computer mouse cursor over the option you want and click the left mouse button. If you are using the keyboard or controller and nothing is highlighted, simply press up or down until something is highlighted in red.

Rebinding controls and changing fullscreen options

From either the main menu or pause menu, select "Options". Once in the options menu, highlight the key you wish to rebind and press the fire button or left click the mouse. Then, the game will wait for input. The next valid input it recieves will be bound to the selected action. To change fullscreen mode, simply highlight the Fullscreen option and press the fire button or left click. This will toggle fullscreen on or off, depending on what mode is currently enabled. Make sure to select "save and return" after selecting your preferred options!

Entering a high score

If you manage to attain a high score when you get a game over, you will be taken to the high score screen. To select an initial, simply press the Left and Right buttons, and then press Fire to confirm. Repeat the process for your middle and last initial. High scores are automatically saved to your computer.
